The Moet &Chandon House is known in the world of
wine making for over 270 years now. For more than a quarter of a millennium, this
house has been producing and serving unique and elegant wines to wine - lovers
all over the globe.
Although each wine manufactured by Moet &Chandon
is a masterpiece in itself, this blog is dedicated to the one that has made
people drool all over the world – Moet and Chandon Imperial. This is the
flagship champagne of Moet &Chandon – vibrant, alluring and lively in
appearance, and bubbly and elegant in taste.
The Moet Imperial has been created with a blend of a
hundred different
wines, about 30% of which were reserve wines, added to the
mix to provide complexity, longevity and maturity to the champagne. The
assemblage of the champagne speaks of all 3 distinct varieties of grapes used
in the blend – 30 to 40% Pinot Noir to strengthen the body, about 40% of Pinot
Meunieror suppleness and around 30% Chardonnay to add finesse to the champagne,
with a dosage rate of 9 grams per litre.
This dazzling wine has a mind - blowing taste and flavour.
It presents a sparkling golden yellow hue with highlights of green. On the nose
of the bottle, the champagne presents a vibrant intensity of citrus fruits and
green apple. There is a sweet freshness of white flowers, which coupled with
the aroma of fresh nuts, add extra complexity to the champagne. The taste of
peach, gooseberry and pear on the palate along with the vivacity of citrus
fruits make this champagne seem like a heavenly drink. Food like sushi,
scallops, oysters, white fish, white fruits (such as a white peach tart with
chocolate cream) and white meat (like roasted free range chicken) pair
perfectly with a glass of this bubbly and chirpy delight!
